NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY: District level programme on National Mathematics Day 2023- 24 was organised at Sikkim Science Centre. Outreach: there was an outreach to 1200 students and 60 Maths teachers from all the 6 districts of Sikkim. 60 schools from all the district were involved in the programme Resource Persons: Insightful sessions led by renowned Maths communicator as a resource persons from Bangalore from 1. Shri VSS Sastry2. Shri Praveen S. The workshop Included: hands on demonstration by the RPs to the students like mathematics on language, Planetary sizes, golden ratio, maths and sports. Outcome: the students learned about mathematics out of the classroom experience and various ways in which maths can be perceived through these hands-on sessions. NMD 2023 was conducted successfully at Sikkim Science Centre on 22nd December 2024.
